Christmas is a great time in our family. The inside of the house is over decorated, the grand kids are super excited. Its family time to celebrate and be thankful. Yet there is that slight dark underlining know that 2017 approaching is going to be a very hard year.

In the past 3 months I have deteriorated.

I can no longer raise my arms to give a hug, or a hand shake. A glass is too heavy for me to lift. My legs are getting weaker to get up and down.

It is taking strain on all the family. Jeanette is still working her day job and looking after me. It is not easy. I can see she is tired and stressed. I am sorry...

We have joined the MND association SA and the J9 site for support. There is more than 60 MND patients in the Western Cape and 248 country wide and we all different. Other people have the use of their arms but are in a wheel chair, some have lost their speech while others seem to be stagnate. There is people that I have met at our meetings that has had the disease for 20 years.

I have stopped doing the physiotherapy as it is expensive, but they have shown Jeanette how to help me do the exercises at home. We do them everyday.

We living day by day...
