Helping Theodore
live with
Motor Neuron Disease
Theodore Wilson is 56 years old and has been diagnosed with the dreaded MND. He is a husband, father and Grandfather. He was a very active grandfather before the illness took over. He would play cricket, swim in freezing water or teach the boys to fish. The grandsons have him wrapped around the finger. He tries to attend every event that impacts the family. His family has always been his priority.
He loves to socialize and be merry.
Some call him Theodore, Theo or Rocky. He would help anyone that needed help if it was in his means to do so.
This dreaded diseases is depriving him of so many things.
Motor Neuron Disease is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurons, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
There is no treatment or cure and very little is understood about the disease.
South Africa has no drug trials available, MND clinics are offered every 6 months but only assists with lung capacity tests. The MND Doctors have no insight and their agendas are not aimed to find a cure.
This disease takes everything from you and your family and is a big financial strain.
